Thornbury Castle was built in 1511 during the reign of Henry VIII and the Tudor Style and it was one of the most magnificent buildings of its time. Thornbury Castle has been the house for kings, queens and dukes over the centuries. Walk the halls lined with suits of armour, tapestry-hung walls, elegant silk and velvet fabrics, ancient furnitures, four-poster king beds, magnificent fireplaces rich with symbols and immersing yourself in the charme of English history. Thornbury Castle is the only Tudor Castle in England to be opened, in 1980 as a Hotel, famous for the time spent here in 1535 by King Henry VIII and his wife Queen Anne Boleyn. After the complete restoration and renovation visitors finally will enjoy Thornbury Castle at its best.
